Networking, Architecture and Artwork ... all in a stunning setting by the water.
Designed by celebrated architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the ICA was the first museum built in Boston in nearly 100 years. The 65,000-square-foot space featuring a dramatic folding ribbon form and a cantilever extending to the water's edge, provides a bold presence for the ICA, symbolizing its commitment to contemporary art and design.
The Wharton Club of Boston invites you to join us for a guided tour of this magnificent building in a stunning setting. Museum docents will take us through an overview of the galleries, featuring contemporary art at its most unusual and provocative. Your understanding of contemporary artists—what they are seeking to accomplish and their means of so doing—will be greatly enhanced. Several exhibitions are featured —“ICA Collection: Entangled in the Everyday”; Ragnar Kjartansson’s: “The Visitors”; Nina Chanel Abney’s work
We will meet at “the wall” (inside, by the large mural) shortly before 11:00 am and enter the gallery area as a group.
This mid day event in the ICA is certain to be a pleasant diversion!
