Join Wharton alumni to make a difference in Boston with Community Consulting Teams (CCT)
From the comfort of your couch, come join The Wharton Club of Boston and Community Consulting Teams Boston (CCT Boston) for a conversation about volunteering to help local non-profit flourish on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 7-8pm over Zoom.
CCT Boston assembles teams of 8 -10 experienced business professionals to provide strategic pro bono consulting projects for local non-profits. If you are a graduate of any of the Wharton affiliated business programs, we welcome you to join us. For more than 12 years, the Wharton Club of Boston has been a proud sponsor of CCT volunteers, and we had 16 Wharton alumni volunteers on diverse projects this past year!
Carole Cafferty is Co-Director of The Educational Justice Institute (TEJI) at MIT dedicated to promoting progressive and sustainable change through educational pathways. TEJI has developed programs to empower incarcerated people through therapeutic and educational opportunities, such as the Massachusetts Prison Education Consortium (MPEC). Carole will describe their organization's experience with CCT and the impact CCT has had on their organization. Located at MIT, TEJI was seeking to expand their services beyond Massachusetts to the New England area and asked CCT to develop a business model for them to scale as part of the Institute's strategic plan.
Wharton alumni who have served on CCT projects as consultants, project managers and board members will describe their experiences and you will also hear directly from a client.
We are now seeking volunteers for teams comprised of teams of experienced business professionals, many who are MBAs. As a CCT volunteer, you can benefit by:
- Making an impact on a local non-profit in a fun and satisfying way
- Networking with, and learning from Wharton alumni and other top schools with diverse backgrounds
- Applying your business knowledge towards an interesting and challenging assignment
- Learning how non-profits operate while focusing on a particular area of interest.
The time commitment is a couple of hours per week. Projects kick off in January 2024 and run through June 2024 with project meetings that will include a few in-person sessions to meet the clients and the teams as well as weekly check-in meetings on Zoom.
Volunteer applications can be completed at www.cctboston.org and are due by November 3
Free of charge
Please register by Monday, October 16, 2023. Access information will be sent out the morning of the event.
