Wharton Sports Business Initiative Kicks Off Second Annual "State of the Business of Sports" Luncheon Series at the Super Bowl with 2 Panels: "State of the Business of Football" & "The Business of the Players"
The Wharton Sports Business Initiative (WSBI) is a research and education "think tank" focused on thought leadership in the realm of sports business. The "State of the Business of Sports" Series focuses on bringing together professionals to provide an outlook on various areas within the realm of sports business
WSBI will be hosting its second annual discussion on the "State of the Business of Football" on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis beginning at 11:30 am. The panelists are Andrew Brandt (Wharton Lecturer/ESPN Business Analyst), Leah LaPlaca (VP, Programming & Acquisitions at ESPN), and Spencer Tillman (CBS Sports Reporter & Former NFL Player).
A second panel, "The Business of Players" will begin at 1 pm. "The Business of the Players" will discuss their various pursuits off of the football field including their personal brand, businesses beyond football and social impact ventures. The panel will be moderated by Mori Taheripour (Wharton Lecturer/US AID Sports for Development Senior Advisor) and will feature Brandon Gorin (Marco's Pizza Owner & Former NFL Player) and Donald Strickland (Player, NY Jets/President & CEO, Visionary Moments), with another player to be announced shortly.
