The Wharton Club of Boston is excited to announce that nationally-renowned speaker, consultant, management thinker and Wharton (MBA) alum Peter Cohan will speak to us on the current financial crisis.
Wednesday, October 22nd
6:00pm
Needham Public Library, 1139 Highland Ave., Needham, MA 02494 (map)
In this hour-long presentation and discussion, Peter will tell it as he sees it on what exactly brought us to where we are, the true causes of the crisis, what the various stakeholders – families, banks, companies, and governments – need to do to protect themselves and ride out the storm, and what needs to be done to ensure that the mistakes of the past are not repeated.
Peter Cohan has been interviewed on numerous programs, including Wall Street Week, Good Morning America, New England Cable News' New England Business Day, NPR's Marketplace Morning Report, Bloomberg Business Radio TV, CNN Financial Network's Before Hours, and the Boston Business Journal's Business 1060 AM. He also authors two online management and investment columns: Reality Check, which is posted at Jorge Nascimento Rodrigues's Gurusonline.tv, and TechTrends for Computerworld Philippines. He also writes his own blog, The Informed Observer, and for AOL money & finance's Bloggingstocks.
His latest book, Value Leadership: The 7 Principles that Drive Corporate Value in Any Economy, received 5 stars (out of 5) from every one of ten reviewers. Commented Bill Redgate, founder and Executive Director of The Center for Values Based Leadership, Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT: "Value Leadership is one of the best books that I have ever read because it addresses all the stakeholders -- from employees and customers to board members and investors. Peter Cohan's Value Quotient is an excellent, pragmatic model. If I were running a corporation today, I would adopt his philosophy and process. I encourage business leaders faced with today's challenges to read it." Order it here or buy it at the event.
Peter's next book, You Can’t Order Change: Lessons from Jim McNerney’s Turnaround at Boeing, will be out in December. You can pre-order it here.
This event is open to both members of the Wharton Club of Boston, as well as non-member Wharton School alumni/ae. Light refreshments will be served. Due to space limitations, a limited number of tickets will be available. So register now!
